- 1: Ortholog/Paralog Lab
- This lab explores genetic diversity and can be used to begin a discussion about gene duplication and divergence. It requires each team has access to a computer. It can be run in class or at home (for students who have taken Genetics or have some background in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology)
- 2: Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy Observations
- Students practice using microscopes, practice spatial reasoning skills, compare the anatomy of vertebrate embryos, and produce artistic representations of development in this lab.
