This is not a summary of what your group did—it is a personal reflection on how you learned, contributed, struggled, adapted, and grew throughout the process.
The reflection paper requires everyone to individually reflect on each phase of the Design a Farm process. The reflection paper (approx. 1,000–1,500 words, double-spaced, 12-point font, with standard margin) is due at the class session following your group’s pitch presentation.
You must make an appointment with the Academic Support Center for help with your reflection paper. The Academic Support Center must review your reflection paper (this is part of your grade).
- Discuss the most significant technical challenge your group faced when designing your farm. How did your group address that challenge?
- Provide one specific example of an "evidence-based finding" that forced your group to pivot from your original design idea.
- How did your own beliefs, opinions, or feelings influence the choices your group made?
- Reflect on the entire group presentation process. What did you learn from this experience?
- What assumptions about the group presentation experience were supported or refuted?
- Provides specific examples.
- How did this project help you better understand the challenges facing agriculture in ways that motivate you to learn more?
- Review the challenges your group faced (provide examples).
- Discuss how your group handled challenges (provide examples).
- Discuss what you would do differently next time or areas where you could improve your presentation (provide examples).
The conclusion of your reflection paper should summarize your thoughts, feelings, or opinions regarding what you learned about yourself from the group project and presentation process.
A final component of your grade will be based on your classroom participation during other groups' presentations. I do not expect everyone to ask a question or make a comment about each presentation, but over the course of all the presentations, I expect everybody to participate meaningfully. In assigning this portion of your grade, I will consider how well you have contributed to and motivated further classroom discussion by being present for peer grading on days when your group is not presenting.

The following items are required to be part of your Reflection Paper
- An email confirming you attended an appointment with the Academic Support Center to review your paper.
- An APA-formatted bibliography listing your sources and all LLM use.
- An APA formatted 1,000–1,500-word paper using at least three supporting sources for each section (twelve sources total). Your paper should be double-spaced, in 12-point font, and with standard margins.
