After completing this lab, the student will be able to perform the following objectives:
- Define the following: bacteriophage, plaque, and phage typing.
- Describe the structure of the bacteriophage coliphage T4.
- Describe the lytic life cycle of bacteriophages.
- Define viral specificity.
- Recognize plaques and state their cause.
- Interpret the results of a viral specificity test using Coliphage T4.
