Veins of the Upper Limb
Blood returning to the superior vena cava from the upper limbs is collected through the subclavian veins (right and left). Veins of the upper limbs are named as they relate to and the landmarks and regions they drain. The median cubital vein, located on the anterior aspect of the elbow, is one of the most common locations where blood draws are taking due to its position close to the surface of the skin.
