Chromosomes in Meiosis

( \newcommand{\kernel}{\mathrm{null}\,}\)

Draw three diagrams of a cell with 3 pairs of chromosomes (2n=6), drawing (or highlighting) each pair of chromosomes in a different color. Chromosome 1 is large and metacentric; chromosome 2 is small and metacentric; chromosome 3 is small and telocentric.

A. Draw the chromosomes in metaphase meiosis I. Note that there are two different possible alignments - only one alignment needs to be shown. Label the location of the synaptonemal complex and centromeres.

B. Draw the chromosomes in two cells in metaphase meiosis II.

C. Draw the chromosomes in the gametes at the end of meiosis.
