    Collaborative Study Activities

This activity is designed for student groups of 2-4. Larger groups will work better when there is no supplemental instructor present in the laboratory to assist in testing student groups on each section.

    1. Identify the following structures on classroom anatomical models and/or unlabeled images/diagrams made available by your instructor. Work with your group to identify each structure and check them off the list once you have identified them.

    ⎕ bronchioles

    ⎕ cardiac notch

    ⎕ cricoid cartilage

    ⎕ external nares

    ⎕ hard palate

    ⎕ horizontal fissure

    ⎕ inferior lobe (2 places)

    ⎕ inferior nasal concha

    ⎕ inferior nasal meatus

    ⎕ internal nares

    ⎕ laryngeal prominence

    ⎕ laryngopharynx

    ⎕ larynx

    ⎕ left primary bronchus

    ⎕ left lung

    ⎕ median cricothyroid ligament

    ⎕ middle lobe

    ⎕ middle nasal concha

    ⎕ middle nasal meatus

    ⎕ nasal cavity

    ⎕ nasal vestibule

    ⎕ nasopharynx

    ⎕ oblique fissure (2 places)

    ⎕ oral cavity

    ⎕ oropharynx

    ⎕ pulmonary arteries

    ⎕ pulmonary veins

    ⎕ right lung

    ⎕ right primary bronchus

    ⎕ secondary bronchi

    ⎕ soft palate

    ⎕ superior lobe (2 places)

    ⎕ superior nasal concha

    ⎕ superior nasal meatus

    ⎕ tertiary bronchi

    ⎕ thyrohyoid membrane

    ⎕ thyroid cartilage

    ⎕ trachea

    ⎕ tracheal cartilage

    ⎕ uvula

    2. Test your group members by asking them to name each structure you point to. Check off each when your group can successfully name each. Your group will also test you.

    3. When you and your group are comfortable identifying all the structures above, request the assistance of your Instructor. They will test you on your use of these terms and initial ONLY when you are successful using these terms. Instructor: _______
