There are two main groups of DNA viruses covered in this course: Herpesviruses and Human Papilloma Viruses (HPV). There are many herpesviruses which infect humans and they all act similarly in their infection patterns. Understanding the herpesviruses as a group will help you learn the two examples we will only be using in this class: HSV and VZV.
