The first volume in a three-part series, this lab manual introduces aspiring health professionals to the foundations of Human Anatomy and Physiology I, built for a CSU and UC transferable sequence and aligned with the Medical Laboratory Technology A.A. degree. Its nine labs pair hands-on anatomical identification with guided inquiry, pushing students beyond naming structures to understanding how body systems function and why that matters in clinical settings. Covering cell chemistry and biology, histology, and the integumentary, skeletal, and muscular systems, the manual is scaffolded to build steadily, from foundational vocabulary and technique to system-level, functional understanding, while glossaries, clear objectives, and purposeful background reading keep the work approachable and grounded in real clinical relevance.
