6.IV: Proteolytic enzymes

A. Trypsin preferentially cleaves peptides on the C-side of Lys or Arg residues.

B. Chymotrypsin preferentially cleaves peptides on the C-side of Phe, Tyr or Trp residues.

C. Cyanogen bromide (CNBr) cleaves on the C-side of Met residues and converts the Met residue to a homoserine lactone. The complete reaction is shown below.
