    Collaborative Study Activities

These activities are designed for student groups of 2-4. Larger groups will work better when there is no supplemental instructor present in the laboratory to assist in testing student groups on each section.

Part 1 each group will need a clavicle and a scapula. For Part 2, each group will need all the bones of the upper limb (hand articulated). For Part 3, each group will need a coxal bone or an assembled pelvis. For Part 4, each group will need the bones of the lower limb (foot articulated).

    Part 1: Shoulder/Pectoral Girdle

    1. Identify the following structures on classroom anatomical models and/or unlabeled images/diagrams made available by your instructor. Work with your group to identify each structure and check them off the list once you have identified them.

    ⎕ scapula (R or L)

    ⎕ spine

    ⎕ supraspinous fossa

    ⎕ infraspinous fossa

    ⎕ superior angle

    ⎕ inferior angle

    ⎕ lateral border

    ⎕ medial border

    ⎕ subscapular fossa

    ⎕ acromion/acromion process

    2. Test your group members by asking them to name each structure you point to. Check off each when your group can successfully name each. Your group will also test you.
