    Formative Questions

    1. What is an ecological community?
    2. What organisms might you expect to find in milk left at room temperature?
    3. Using chocolate milk and plain whole milk, come up with a hypothesis for what will happen if those milks are left out at room temperature. Will there be a difference in organisms seen in the two milk conditions? Will this change over time?

    Summative Questions

    1. What is an ecological community?
    2. Define biological succession
    3. What information can be gained from doing a gram stain?
    4. Are bacteria the only organisms we might find in milk left at room temperature? Why or why not?
    5. What do you think would happen if we left the milk for longer? 10 days? 12 days?
    6. Why did you take pH in the different milk conditions? What do changes in pH indicate about presence or absence of certain organisms?
