    Several large-scale data production e↵orts such as ENCODE, modENCODE and Epigenome Roadmap projects are currently in progress and therefore there are several opportunities to computationally ana- lyze this new data. Epigenomic data is also being used to study how behavior can alter your genome. There are studies being done that look at diet and exercise and their e↵ects on disease susceptibility.

    Another interesting area of research is the analysis of epigenetic changes in disease. Current research in the Computational Biology Group at MIT is looking at the link between chromatin states and Alzheimer’s disease.
